Samsung Close to Releasing 57″ ‘8K’ Gaming Monitor with 240Hz
Samsung previewed a monster new 57″ ‘8K’ (that is 8K horizontally, but just half the full 4K vertically) LCD monitor for gamers at CES and now retail pricing (€3,249 -around $3,000+ tax) has been listed in Europe. The Odyssey Neo G9 curved monitor will only have half the pixels of an 8K TV because of the restricted height, but the development of 240Hz and the implementation of DisplayPort 2.1 suggest that Samsung could move 8K sets to 120Hz using similar technology. That would be good for 8K gaming development.
