Discover the Most Immersive Home Viewing 8K Experience.
An 8K experience is big, bold, and detailed: 8K (sometimes called Ultra HD 8K) is the step forward from 4K. In general, it is more: more pixels, more details, brighter color and a wider range of brightness (and dark) levels. There is a clear trend toward bigger and bigger TVs – a trend that plays well to 8K and its increased visual and auditory immersion. It’s in these larger display sizes where the shortcomings of 4K TVs can become evident. As the screen gets bigger—and you stay sitting in the same place—you need more pixels to enable crisp and sharp images. While 4K is 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, 8K moves up to 7,680 x 4,320. 8K is about the number of pixels (four times as many as 4K), paired with High Dynamic Range (HDR).
As picture detail increases, you can sit and marvel in front of a huge image that feels like it’s engulfing you. It’s here that big 8K TVs have a natural advantage because it increases the angles at which light enters your eyes – i.e., a more cinema-like experience. This, in turn can increase the separation between fore and background, creating more of a pop to visuals, and giving you a more immersive viewing experience. You can enjoy the benefit 8K images no matter where you place your sofa, but for optimal viewing, take a look at our display viewing chart.
